This privacy policy informs you about the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data on our website jewomining.com and in our online shop.

2. General Information and Legal Bases

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. Legal bases are Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), (b) (performance of a contract), (c) (legal obligation) and (f) (legitimate interest).

3. Hosting and Server Log Files

When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files (IP address, date and time of the request, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL). This data is used to ensure trouble-free operation and the security of our systems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is deleted after a short period.

4. Cookies and Consent Management (Complianz)

Our website uses cookies. For cookies that are not technically necessary, we obtain your consent via the consent banner of the Complianz plugin (Complianz B.V., Netherlands). Your consent decision is stored in a cookie; you can revoke or change it at any time via the cookie settings. Details on the cookies used can be found in our cookie policy.

5. Contact Form (Fluent Forms)

If you send us an inquiry via the contact form (plugin Fluent Forms), we process the data you provide (name, email address, message and, where applicable, an automatically transmitted product reference) to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). We retain this data until the purpose of processing no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations remain.

6. Online Shop, Customer Account and Order Processing (WooCommerce)

Our shop is based on WooCommerce. To process orders, we handle master and contract data (name, address, email address, phone number where provided, ordered products, payment and shipping data) on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Data is only passed on where necessary for the performance of the contract (e.g. to shipping and payment providers). Retention periods under tax and commercial law remain unaffected.

7. Payment Providers

7.1 Stripe

For payments by credit/debit card or other Stripe payment methods, payment processing is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin, Ireland. Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller or as our processor. Data may be transferred to Stripe, Inc. in the USA; this transfer is safeguarded by EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. More information: stripe.com/privacy.

7.2 NOWPayments (Cryptocurrency Payments)

For payments in cryptocurrencies we use the payment provider NOWPayments (NOWPayments OÜ, Estonia). When paying, the data required for transaction processing (including wallet address, transaction amount, technical transaction data) is transmitted to NOWPayments. Please note that transactions on public blockchains are by their nature stored permanently and transparently. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. More information: nowpayments.io/privacy-policy.

8. Security Features (Wordfence)

To protect our website against attacks, we use the security plugin Wordfence (Defiant Inc., 800 5th Ave, Suite 4100, Seattle, WA 98104, USA). For this purpose, Wordfence processes visitors’ IP addresses and request data to detect and block malicious access. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the security of the website). Transfers to the USA are safeguarded by EU standard contractual clauses. More information: wordfence.com/privacy-policy.

9. Retention Period

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated or as required by statutory retention obligations (e.g. under tax and commercial law). The data is then deleted or anonymized.

10. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data: access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Cyprus (dataprotection.gov.cy).

11. SSL/TLS Encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. Data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
